Equipment Technician/Mechanic position

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Fabricates, assembles, services, maintains, repairs, and tests fluid power equipment. Maintains and repairs hydraulic systems of machinery and equipment by performing the following duties:
  • Assembles, installs, and/or replace fluid power components such as pumps, cylinders, valves, cartridges, reservoirs, motors, hoses, tubes, fittings, filters, seals, and controls.
  • Verifies conformance to specifications.
  • Visually inspects hydraulic lines and components to detect leaks, damage, and wear.
  • Connects unit to test equipment, and analyzes and records data such as fluid pressure, flow measure, and power loss due to friction and parts wear.
  • Observes operation of machinery and equipment to verify repair.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair vehicle electrical systems.
  • Ability to operate forklift, shop hoist, and practices safe material handle moving techniques.
  • Ability to operate all truck equipment and drive units around the yard and to/from the shop.

Job requirements:
  • Be able to work under limited supervision.
  • Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Must have own basic tools to perform job duties.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Must possess good agility, proper lifting skills, & ability to handle physical workload.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in mobile hydraulics, vehicle electrical systems, heavy equipment, or other related fields.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, shop tools/equipment, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with engineering prints, drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Valid CA driver’s license & clean driving record. (Commercial license a plus)
  • Metal fabricating & welding experience a plus.
  • Alternative fuel system experience a plus.
  • Hands on experience with Cummins Insite is a plus.
